Sandy earned her Master of Public Health from Boston University, with a concentration in Biostatistics. Prior to that, she kindled her interest in research and in behavioral health in particular pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Sandy joined Duke’s Global Health Institute in 2009, where she has collaborated with researchers developing behavioral health interventions for a variety of physical and mental health conditions, with a special interest in digital health interventions. Sandy has experience at every phase of the research cycle from design through analysis. In recent years she has had a special focus on the study start-up and data collection phases, helping research teams develop and implement data collection systems and protocols that elevate overall research and data quality.
