William P. Nkenguye, MD

Bio: William P. Nkenguye is a Medical Doctor by profession, He obtained his bachelor’s degree of Medicine from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College and is currently working as an intern at Mawenzi, a regional referral hospital of the Kilimanjaro region in the Northern part of Tanzania. He has worked closely with the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute as a field Doctor in Arthritis and PAMC projects (Promotion of Modern Contraceptive use using Art-based methods). He has been working under the close mentorship of Prof Blandina Theophil Mmbaga, the director of the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute. This year he earned a scholarship program to pursue Master of Science in Epidemiology and Applied Biostatistics under the TRECK D43 project and he will pursue his master’s degree at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College for two years under the mentorship of the GEMINI team lead by Dr Catherine Ann Staton. His research focus area during the master’s program will be creating a machine learning model to predict hospital mortality determinants among children who suffer traumatic brain injury (TBI). William is excited for this new career path and looking forward to making a difference as a junior researcher.
William is a simple person, playful and likes nature and music. As hobbies he plays the guitar, piano and violin, He also likes to ride a bicycle, and watch movies.
