Bio: Nayara Caruzzo graduated from State University of Maringá – Brazil, with a Masters Degree in Motor Performance and PhD in Sport Psychology. Over her graduate career, Nayara was involved in research regarding Coach-athlete relationship, leadership and factors related to athletic performance. Also, she is a lover of data analysis, psychometric and cross cultural adaptation studies, which is where the bridge with Duke University and Gemini group happened. Nayara was awarded a doctoral scholarship, and with that she chose Duke to deepen her studies on the topic of data analysis, with Joao Ricardo Nickenig Vissoci, PhD, MSc, MBA; Catherine Staton, MD, MSc as her mentors.

Currently, Nayara works as a Research affiliate to the Gemini group, being involved in the psychometric projects. Her motivation is to bring to the community new tools to easily assess diseases, traumas and comorbidities in different contexts. In the metaverse, Nayara works as Superintendent of the Sports and Leisure Department of the Maringá City Hall – Brazil, implementing public policies based on scientific evidence, which aim to improve people’s quality of life.

Her long-term career goal is to work as a professor and a researcher at the University. Her dream is to build a bridge between science produced by University and the public policies applied in Brazilian Politics programs.
