Marcos Campos is a Brazilian physician who graduated from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) and specialized in internal medicine at the Clinical Hospital of Botucatu Medical School, São Paulo State University (UNESP). He is a DGHI/Duke Emergency Medicine/GEMINI collaborator on studies related to snakebite studies and access to healthcare in vulnerable populations in Brazil. He is currently involved in studies on populations at risk of disasters related to dam failures in Brazil and implementing new technologies to estimate health resources in environmental disasters. His mentor is Dr. João Ricardo Nickenig Vissoci, PhD. Marcos has experience in epidemiology studies, especially cohort studies. He is part of the research team of a birth cohort and a cohort of children with Congenital Zika Syndrome in Northeast Brazil. He also works with epidemiological studies related to glomerulopathies at a reference center for kidney pathology in Brazil. Marcos Campos likes to travel and discover new cultures. His favorite activities are reading Latin American books, hiking, and outdoor activities.
