Kennedy Ngowi

Bio: Kennedy Ngowi is the ICT administrator and mobile health expert working at Kilimanjaro Christian Research Institute. As mHealth expert, He has worked on numerous projects which exploit the ubiquitous use of mobile phones in Tanzania to improve patient treatment and patient wellness. To date, Kennedy successively engaged as investigator and coordinated four studies which used mHealth to provide education on Family planning, Controlling Alcohol-related Harms and improve treatment on HIV/AIDS patients. As software developer, Kennedy develops the required tools needed at low resource health center settings while promoting cost effectiveness for sustainability. As coordinator, Kennedy oversees the process of recruitment, enrollment, data collection, follow up of the participants based on work plans. His successful management of these project led him to obtaining a PhD Scholarship to investigate the effect of short message service (SMS) and real time medication monitoring (RTMM) to improve adherence to antiretroviral treatment, Kilimanjaro region. To ensure rigor and reproducibility in his project at KCRI, Kennedy has incorporated extensive advance training including project management, Good Clinical Practice, Policy Briefing, Communicating science to specific target-audiences, Qualitative Data Management and Analysis withNVIvo (Concept & Approaches) and Development of Mobile Health.
