Gabriele Nascimento de Oliveira
PhD Student
State University of Maringa
Gabriele holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine and a Master’s in Health Sciences from the State University of Maringá (UEM), Brazil, where she focused on maternal-fetal health, particularly sexually transmitted infections, with an emphasis on Hepatitis B and HIV. During her master’s, she explored how data science could provide new perspectives in this field, leading her to shift her focus toward using data-driven approaches to enhance healthcare systems, particularly in tracking and monitoring HIV-positive patients.
Her involvement with the GEMINI Research Center emerged from this intersection of data science, health expertise, and the gaps between them, aiming to bridge these areas to improve public health strategies.
Gabriele loves a good challenge, just as much as she loves lifting weights at the gym or enjoying the outdoors, hiking and camping. Music is another big passion – she’s learned several instruments by ear and is constantly trying to add a new one to the mix. She also enjoys getting lost in deep conversations and a good cup of coffee, philosophizing about the little things in life.
