
Dr. Kim Madundo
Psychiatrist, Lecturer
Kim Madundo (he/him) is a psychiatrist at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) and a lecturer at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo), based in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. He is one of only six practicing psychiatrists in the Northern zone of Tanzania, with a catchment area of approximately 15 million. He shares responsibility in coordinating clinical rotations for undergraduate students and intern doctors.
Kim began collaborating with faculty at Duke in 2019 while undertaking his psychiatry residency training at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. He has since then established a strong relationship with multiple teams at Duke and currently serves as an investigator on multiple NIH-funded R-level grants. He has an interest addressing the gaps in care for severe mental health challenges including suicidality, psychosis and alcohol use.
Kim enjoys mountain-climbing, nature photography, cooking, and live music.
