Bio: Dalton Costa is a psychologist who graduated from the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). He is currently a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). As a psychologist, he has primarily focused on the cognitive assessment of the elderly. Dalton has recently been working on research involving the use of Virtual Reality and training public safety professionals in the United States. He has also been involved in data science, collaborating with Duke University’s Global Emergency Medicine Innovation and Implementation lab (GEMINI) on broad applications of machine learning in healthcare. Dalton is currently working on a GEMINI research project that aims to classify medical calls using natural language processing techniques under the advisement of Dr. João Vissoci.
