The Duke Center for Global Mental Health maintains a network of partnerships across Europe, advancing collaborative research and implementation in global mental health. CGMH faculty collaborate with universities across Europe, such as Trinity College Dublin, University of Oxford, and Heidelberg University, working closely with partner faculty and trainees to address global challenges in mental health and share knowledge and expertise.

In Italy, CGMH faculty affiliates and members of the Center for Child and Family Policy (CCFP) collaborate with partners at the University of Naples “Federico II” and the Università di Roma “La Sapienza” on the Parenting Across Cultures initative, a longitudinal study across nine countries that is researching how biological, cultural and familial processes impact child development, self-regulation and risk-taking.

In Ukraine, CGMH faculty affiliate Dr. Ann Skinner leads a research project titled: Risk and Resilience in Ukraine in partnership with the Lviv State University of Physical Culture. The research contributes to a growing body of research examining how the ongoing war, displacement, and trauma shape mental health outcomes, while identifying resilience processes among youth and families.
