Congratulations to Dr. Chris Beyrer on his reappointment to a second five-year term as Director of the Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI)!
Dr. Beyrer; an internationally recognized epidemiologist who has worked on the front lines of HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 treatment and research, became director of DGHI in August 2022. He is the Gary Hock Distinguished Professor in Global Health and holds appointments in in the Departments of Medicine and Infectious Diseases in the School of Medicine.
We are grateful for Dr. Beyrer’s leadership and his continued commitment to advancing global health research, education, and impact. We look forward to all that DGHI will accomplish in the years ahead under his leadership.
In a recent Duke Today feature, Dr. Beyrer mentioned the Duke Center for Global Mental Health as one of the accomplishments of his first term. He shared his pride in launching the Center and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing global mental health research, education, and impact.
